Posted on March 25th, 2009 by administrator

Mick Mercer, author of the online magazine The Mick and go-to man for anything related to the Goth subculture has authored a new book: Music To Die For, available for purchase directly from Cherry Red Books.

From the author:

Music To Die For is a 624 page directory containing individual entries on 3,581 different bands, from 70 countries, with 183 photos. It covers bands from the beginning of these scenes to the present day and wherever possible contains full line-up details and discographies as well as unusual facts revealed by many of the bands. This is the biggest guide ever printed about the underground scenes in which Goth, Post-Punk and all things noir co-exist with equal splendour.

From the publisher:

Packed with discographical information, web addresses line-ups and often contributions from the bands themselves, this is the first edition of a book that will be turned to again & again & will undoubtedly appear in new editions as the years pass. It is also copiously illustrated with band photos – a crucial component when the visual image is so important.

Illusion of Joy is merely one of numerous musicians who have been listed in this fine tome.
