Sale on CDs from CD Baby for the month of August
Posted on August 8th, 2017 by administrator
The purchase of physical media is a wonderful way to show support for musicians. However, the convenience of digital downloads and streaming often supplants one’s initial inclination to purchase a shiny disc. As convenience is the apex of directing consumer desires and behaviours, a notice was recently sent to the Department of All Things Illusion of Joy from CD Baby simply stating that they had too many IoJ CDs in their warehouse. This left three options: sell the CDs (preferable), have the CDs returned to collect dust at our residences or allow CD Baby to recycle the excess stock.
With an eye towards achieving option one, a board of highly skilled bean counters has decided to reduce the price of CDs purchased through CD Baby throughout the month of August. All three IoJ albums available via CD Baby are now $8 a piece. This is a sharp reduction from the usual price of $12.97 and also a purchase that is less expensive than the digital download price of $9.99.

Also, $8 was chosen because August is the 8th month of the year – aren’t we clever?
This sale ends after August 31st, so if you were planning on purchasing an IoJ album, now is the time to do it. After August, there are several holidays coming up, so you might want to consider purchasing Labour Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, et cetera presents before a price increase. There are rewards for planning ahead.
