Re: Hurley's Last Night

Posted on September 27th, 2002 by administrator

Thank you to everyone who came out to Hurley’s last night to see me play, and doubly so for those who didn’t come to see me but stayed around and complimented me on my performance. It was nice to see so many new faces; perhaps I will begin playing the open mics regularly again at SUNY Potsdam.

Regarding the individual who took the soundboard towards the end of my set: I spoke with the president of the Student Government Association today about his behaviour. It matters little to me that I am “just” a student on the campus; I deserve the same respect at the club as any artist brought in from out of town who has signed a contract to perform. Playing with the settings on the board for one’s own amusement (i.e.: levels, panning, digital effects) is highly unprofessional for one who is being paid to work at a club. It also discourages repeat visits from those who go to the club when this happens. Suffice it to say, such actions are unacceptable.

Thanks again to everyone who came out last night!

Live Performance

I know this is very short notice, but I’ll be playing at Hurley’s this evening at 7:00. The venue is located on the SUNY Potsdam campus (specifically below the Lehman dining hall) in Potsdam, New York. An open mic follows at 8:00PM. This is a solo show – no backing band – just myself and a keyboard.

Wear your fishnet and black eyeliner – I don’t foresee myself being in a good mood tonight.
